In this 4-week course, you will learn the fundamentals of developing an idea into a premise, a premise into a pitch, and a pitch into a scene. Below is a detailed outline of the main homework assignment and the theme for each week’s class. Beginning March 8th.

Week 1: Ideas – 3 Minute Story

Week 2: Genre Specific Premises – 2 Minute Monologue

Week 3: Scene Ideas – Creating a Scene 3 Minutes

Week 4: Dialogue & Action Blocks – Developing the scene into dialogue and action blocks.

This class utilizes two platforms to engage with students: Online and Zoom. Each week’s lessons and homework assignments will be available on the online course platform, while live classes with fellow students and the DFA instructor will be hosted on Zoom.

Each lesson on the virtual platform will unlock one week before the corresponding in-person Zoom class, including the first week. Additionally, homework assignments should be posted to the online platform 24 hours before each Zoom class.
